Vintage wooden advertising barrel with painted lettering "SUNNY BROOK (WHISKEY) / Sold By / HILL TOP TAVERN."  34" tall x 22" across at the top and about 26" wide in the middle.  A charming primitive advertising piece that will make a great decorative item.  I am not sure which Hilltop Tavern was offering this whiskey for sale, but I do know the there are several historic Hilltop Taverns throughout the midwest. There was a distillery in Belleville, Illinois that made Sunny Brook whiskey, so perhaps the tavern was near there. The barrel is complete except the bottom is missing.  When set in place it is stable, but the staves and bands are rather loose and will tend to shift when the barrel is moved, so some minor restoration may be desirable.
